Lupinore Presents: The Almighty Rhombus Interview
I remember having the distinct pleasure of meeting this band at the Horseshoe Tavern few months prior. After hearing them for the first time, I figured this was a band to watch! Their ‘on-stage’ presence, their personality, their sound; despite being different, had a familiarity that made sense! They blended alternative sounds with the occasional punk rock riff but with smooth vocals. A skewed, yet logical approach to achieving perfection; what else can one expect from a band named after an oblong quadrilateral? That’s a question we wished we had asked them, but perhaps on our next encounter. We approached them after their set and found out that their brand of talent hailed all the way from the mean streets of Sudbury. As much as we’d love to visit ‘Good ol’ Sudz’, one of these days, we asked that they contact us when they returned to Toronto. We were ecstatic when they did! They were opening for Century Thief at The Piston: the perfect place and the perfect opportunity to catch up with one of Sudbury’s best-kept secrets.
